Hi Rosie, Only George in 1891 Census with Ellen. Also he was found on 1901 Census and 1911 Census Could not find Mary Ann or her other Son James on 1891 Census who also remains a mystery to this day. There are lots of James Bells and to find him I would need to send for Marriage Certs with his Fathers Name on to be certain it was correct James.I sent for a Death Cert recently for a James Bell correct age and area but not him as Death was Reg. by a Brother Robert and there was no Brother of that Name. Joseph her longest surviving Son to John Bambrough turned up on a couple of Census's before his Marriage ( 1911 Census lodging with his half Sister Ellen and her Husband and Family He Married later on that Year.
Thanks for your Interest.

you really do have a humdinger of a mystery here.....have you tried Tyne & Wear Archives, to see if they have a burial record ? They hold burial records, grave purchases and the such, for the whole area.  Start with the Byker area, the cemetery where her son was buried, and then move outwards if that doesn't bring up any results.  Thats about the only thing I can suggest, and probably something you've already done anyway !

I'll keep looking too :)

Hi Kilkennylass, Thank you for your suggestions. My Cousin in Newcastle did the search for me in Tyne and Wear Archives and could not find anything. I live not far from Berwick on Tweed on the Scottish side but if I lived in Newcastle I would be in Heaton Cemetery at least once a week looking for her resting place. I think she would be in there as it is a huge Cemetery and most of my Maternal side of the Family are buried there. It is 40 years since I left Newcastle .
Thank you again to all the folk who have made suggestions. I appreciate your interest.

Such a mystery, she really does seem to have vanished, but with no burial record either I cant help but come back to the thought that she wasn't a Bambrough,Bell or Barker when she died, otherwise you would have found some record.

Have you ruled out all possible marriages that could be her third marriage ? If not, try cross referencing all Mary/Mary Ann/Ann Bambrough (or even all female Bambrough) marriages in Newcastle after April 1901 with the death records for people with that married surname born 1846,died after the marriage date.

even longer shot would be, search probate records for all Mary Ann's who died in Newcastle between 1901-1910 (or beyond), and look for any name/address within the record that tallies with something you already know.

Just for my curiosity, where did Mary Ann marry William Bell, Scotland or Newcastle ?

Good luck, and keep us posted. I love a mystery, so I'll keep looking :)

Hi again kilkennylass  Definitely did not Marry a 3rd time. Thank you for further suggestions. Mary Ann Married her 1st Husband William Robert in South Shields and later they moved to All Saints District in Newcastle upon Tyne. I think T B must be assoc. with the Potteries as her Mother Died from it at only 35 years old. Later her Father Died of it in his 40's and her Husband William Died of it at 28 years old but he was a Butcher. Thanks again. Will keep you Posted if I find her.
