« on: Wednesday 24 June 15 21:57 BST (UK) »
My name at birth was Margaret ann smith. I know my father was called (*) smith, my father with his new wife had, I think 8 children, I am desperate to get in touch. They were all brought up in Walsall area, and I know the eldest was called (*), and youngest was (*). I would be so pleased if anyone has any information. I have tried for a long time to trace them with no luck,
PLEASE HELP.

Hi and welcome to Rootschat....Unfortunately we can't name living people on here as it's against Rootschat policy..It might be a good idea to try Genes Reunited where you can search for living relatives.
Good Luck in your search.

Hi there,

Have you tried to see if you could find your father listed in the Electoral Rolls ?  If you contact the local history centre in Walsall they will be able to let you know where you can find the electoral rolls for the 1950's you should be able to find at least an address. http://cms.walsall.gov.uk/localhistorycentre

If you check out this website, you can search for Births, Death Marriages for the Smiths....If I put in your details you come up with your Mothers surname using this same method you should then be able to find the names of the other children as they should all share the same mothers surname and you will then know their dates of birth.

Hope that this information will help get you started.

Sarah

The salvation army have a  "tracing living   relatives" service..you dont have to be a member or even go to church. They will also act as intermediary/ go between I believe.
Good luck
