Hi, Everyone,
I've just received a birth certificate for an ANNIE LAMB, whose parentage I am not entirely convinced about, according to family legend.  She was born on 9th April 1864 at 40, Beavoir Square (I think I've read this correctly), and the sub-district is West Hackney.
Her parents are given as Thomas William Lamb, a barrister's (?) clerk; mother is Selina Lamb.
Is it possible whether some kind person could look this family up for me at this location in the 1861 and 1871 Census?
Very best wishes,
Keith

Hi, Bekahsgran,
Well done!  Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly with all this lovely information.  I had meanwhile had a look for Selina Lamb in the 1881 Census, and there the family were at 7, Queen's Rd., Edmonton.  Some of the birthplaces given for the children younger than Annie Lamb suggested that the family might have moved from Beauvoir Square before 1871 - but all is well!
Husband Thomas William had died by 1881, but he seems to be absent too on Census night in 1871...
Very best wishes,
Keith

and now you've come up trumps again with this, Bekahsgran.  You've done me proud, and of course I now have all kinds of wonderful fresh trails to pursue...
Thanks so much (Your grand-daughter looks very much like my daughter Rebecca looked when she was that age, by the way...!)
Keith

Hi
Don't you just love it when it all comes together??????????
If your daughter looked just like Rebekah at that age, she must be beautiful.
Maybe its the name that makes them beautiful. Our Rebekah gets prettier by the day, trouble is they grow up too quick, don't they.
Regards
Anne
