How to find a D.O.B

I was wondering if someone could give me some ideas on how to find a date of birth. I know the lady's name, maiden and married, there is no age on the marriage cert. or fathers name and no info. on her divorce papers. Her former husband was born in 1917 and I`ve been in touch but no joy! I haven`t put her name in this post as it`s relatively recent so wasn`t sure whether too !

Hi there, does the marriage certificate say something like 'of full age' or is it simply blank ? If you know when her first marriage was, assume she was 21. Take 21 off her marriage year, which will give you an approx birth year. Use that approx birth year to search birth/baptims/christening records for a more accurate date. then you can apply for the birth certificate if required.
It is inappropriate to discuss those still living, and those who have recently passed, so you were correct not to post names. You can however use the private message facility to contact people directly and in private.
Good luck

I forgot to say, use Ancestry.co.uk or Findmypast.co.uk or such like to search the birth/baptism/christening records...it will give you the oppotuinty to search 1,2,5,10 years either side of your approx date

You will need to get her birth certificate -- hopefully she hasn't got a name like Mary Smith!
Have a look on FreeBMD.org.uk
Start with the area she married in about 20 -30 years before her marriage date
Then if there are any likely candidates you can send for a birth certificate
Certificates cost £9.25 so it might get expensive if you cannot easily pinpoint the correct person
But with the info you have, it won't be easy to know whether you have the correct person or not.
Do you know if she had any siblings? - that might help clarify her family

Later than 1969 the DOB will be on the death record. [if known]
