Census Help "William Benfield"

Can anyone find my Great Grandad William. Born Bledington 1838 to John & Eleanor Benfield.
1841 Bledington Census, aged 3 years
1851 Bledington census, aged 13 years, agricultural laborer.

Cannot find him anywhere for 1861 or 1871.
He was in Australia by 1877.

Is this him Civil Parish Bledington Gloucestershire piece 1979/folio 159/page 11 1851 census
John Benfield b 1804 Bledington age 47 Farm Labourer
Ellen Benfield b 1803 Churchill Oxfordshire
Samuel age 23,Mary Ann age 16 William age 13 ,Sarah age 11,Francis age 9, Ann age 6, John 3
Mary Benfield b 1773 Bloxan Oxfordshire age 78 mother

Was he married before he came to Australia he is not with the family in the 1861 /1871 census

I don't believe so. I think he came here as a single man and was married here in 1877. Can't find him on any ships list either. Thinking he moved around the UK somewhere till the mid 1870's?

Is this his death in 1905 Bendigo Victoria age 67 Wm Ernst Benfield ?

Yes that is his death. I know he married her in 1877 in Kyneton Victoria and went on to have 8 children. I just cant seem to find anything on him between the ages of 13 and 39. Searched high and low from here. Just thought he may be in a census in another place in the UK. Trying everything.
