st james leeds west yorkshire

My mum was born St James hospital Leeds 1930,Her mother was unable to look after her due to ill health.When my mother was 3 she was able to go home to her parents my mother now deceased said she stayed at St James for the 3 years.Where would she have stayed? Was there a childrens home there?             
           Any information would be great xx

 In 1930 the Leeds City Council Public Assistance Committee took over both the hospital and the poor law institutions from the Board of Guardians, but the hospital was transferred to the Health Committee in 1934.
