COMPLETED Cause of death help
« on: Tuesday 07 July 15 21:58 BST (UK) »
Can anyone work out what this cause of death is?

It looks like "manasma" but that's obviously not right as I can't find any cause of death named that.

Thank you.

Marasmus:  progressive emaciation caused by malnutrition in young children.

Would this fit in with the age of the deceased, and the two month period mentioned on the death certificate ?

How old was the person who died?

marasmus
"a form of protein-calorie malnutrition occurring chiefly in the first year of life, with growth retardation and wasting of subcutaneous fat and muscle, but usually with retention of appetite and mental alertness. It is considered to be related to kwashiorkor. Infectious disease may be a precipitating factor. "

Looks as if we all agree!  ;)
