« on: Friday 10 July 15 08:40 BST (UK) »
HI Everyone
I’m trying to find details of the baptism of the above c 1836 Longford County Catholic with parents JAMES COLREAVY and Ann MURTAGH?? Bernard had a few siblings and he and his brother Michael came out to Tasmania with their father JAMES COLREAVY who was a convict.

James was tried in Longford, 22 July 1842  gaoled in Kilmainham and
arrived Tasmania 1843 on the ship Navarino.

His fathers name was Daniel and mums name was Ann?

Ann Colreavy (James wife) arrived with their children 25 Feb 1850 on the Ship Anglia in Tasmania.

Some of the children are
Michael
Francis
John T
James
Bernard Norbert Colreavy.

Any help finding anything on the Colreavy family from Co. Longford very much appreciated.  Kind regards Dianna in Aus.

RC and COI records for Killoe only go back to 1825 so if your family were from this parish I'm afraid that you won't get back further than James, given that he was born in the late 1700's.

This is the link to the parish records of Killoe ~ NOTE they are RC records, so if your family were another religion then they won't show on this.

Anyway, if they are RC then it's worth looking through the baptisms to see if you can find Bernard and his siblings, at least then you will know if you are dealing with the correct area or not.

Hi Tara Thanks for your reply.  The family are Catholic so you think that there may be a chance of finding something on them?  Hope so.  Kind regards Dianna

HI again Tara also Bernard had about 8 siblings all older so I will look for them too. May take a while though as there is no surname first, parents names first as you would expect I guess.  It's good that they are online though.  Dianna
