Thank you so very much for the info,I am sure this is the Peter I am looking for.
I have two Peter's they were cousins born in Glasgow Scotland and I think they both went
out to NJ, where other family members had settled. One married Elizabeth Sedgwick in Glasgow
they were the parents of Louis and Lillian(Ostrander),this Peter occupation was a Machinist,
the other Peter was the son of Edward and Rebecca McMillan, and he married Isabella ???
these two went out on the Harmonia before Peter and Elizabeth arrived I think c1860.

Does this all make sense,,??? these families carried the same family names to their children
so it gets to be a real puzzle sorting them out.Peter and Isabella named son James after Peter,s
father back in Glasgow.

Kind regards
Janey; :)

Thank you Maureen for this info,I am still wondering which Peter this is,you will note
the different spelling of last name, however this part of the family all used this spelling from
what I have already found, this could be spouse of Elizabeth as they seemed to have stayed
around Brooklyn,Kings, area of NYCity,,,next is to find where they are buried,,I have some
of them in a cemetery in Passiac,NJ.

Kind regards
Janey. :)

On the passenger list, he's called a machinist.  I haven't found him yet in the 1860 census but there is a plausible Peter Headifen, machinist, in 1870 [New Jersey] and in 1880 [New York].  However, his wife is much younger and her name was Elizabeth, not Isabella.  There were three children.

Maybe Isabella died and he remarried.  I'll look around.

Peter's ,,,Peter and Isabella ??? arrived on the Harmonia c 1852,,occupation seems to be
Planer????,,the other one married Elizabeth Sedgwick and arrived around c1860 and yes
she was about 15yrs younger than him and they married in Glasgow just prior to sailing
to USA,,Any other info you can find on them I will appreciate very much, thank you.
