Castle Sowerby
« on: Saturday 11 July 15 13:04 BST (UK) »
Is there a church at Castle Sowerby, if so would their records be at the church or the archives ?
I am looking for details about Lancelot Mounsey, who was christened in 1779 at Castle Sowerby.
In 1841 he was living at Castle Sowerby, by 1851 he was living with his wife Ann at Oughterside with their two oldest children Margaret b 1836 Scotland, Lancelot b 1849, by 1861 I think he must have died but Ann is still at Oughterside with Lancelot, and two other children, Thomas & John.
He was nearly 60 when Margaret was born so I wondered if he might have had an earlier family, I can find no record of a marriage to Ann (possibly Armstrong)
Thank you
