Yes, thank Shaun, that was this lady's Dad and I have the 1938 Kelly's entry.
Hopefully the Liverpool Archives will have other years for the directory that I can use to track and document him, will see if I can find the time to get there/

SUCCESS ! :-)

I got a reply today to my enquiry to the Liverpool Archives.
The lady kindly sent me scans of two pages from out of print books A Pub on Every Corner (vols 3 &4)

There are pics of both pubs plus a little bit of info on them. I have found second hand copies of the books on amazon and ordered them both.

She 'will' be pleased when she sees them.

Thanks to everyone who helped

Thank you cando -its 'never' too late to offer help :-)

It is interesting, I saw that when I was poking round trying to find something about The Loggerheads, I especially liked the info on the pub name. Its not a pub name I have come across before.

The info at the NA is one of the reasons I emailed Liverpool Archives, I'm not sure if they transferred everything from the old Record Office to the library, but I'll ask about that.

Thanks again

Boo
