PHILIP JOHN "JACK' DAWSON O.B.E. died in Jersey about 1980
« on: Monday 13 July 15 03:22 BST (UK) »
Family records say that Philip John Dawson moved to Jersey with a second wife, Winifred, and I believe he died there about 1980.
I would dearly like to find the date and place of his death. Any information will be much appreciated.
He was born on 25th October 1898 in South Kensington.
Thanks
Richard

Hi Richard

I have the death record for PJD in St. Helier deaths, Jan 1990 to Nov 1991, volume 86, page 5.

That's all I can tell you at the moment and it may be a few days before I can get to look at the death certificate.

Thanks a lot Stewart.
I am not in touch with any living members of the family as yet, so your efforts are very much appreciated.

Hi Richard

I have now managed to look at the death certificate which sadly does not give much information other the date of death, 8th Feb 1990. The death was reported by Pitcher and Le Quesne, the funeral directors.

I  have additional information which I will put in a PM.

Stewart

That would be my Great Grandfather you are asking about, I should be able to find out the information you are looking for.  I believe he would have still been living at Belle Roche in Jersey at the time of his passing. Simon

My mother is Ginette Pamela Cassidy (Maiden Name: Lydiate), her mother was Pamela Dulce Hume Lydiate (Maiden Name: Dawson) her father was PJ Dawson, making him my Great Grand Father on my mothers side.  My Grandmother has sadly already passed, however she is survived by her three daughters, Joslyn, Ginette and Philippa. My Grandmother did/does have a brother and sister - My parents have a book that my Great Grandfather wrote detailing quite a bit of the family history, right back to Sir Neville Francis Franklin Chamberlain and ending with myself and and my three cousins.  Please let me know what you would like to know and I will do my best to help out.
