David Doak and Catherine Currie
« on: Wednesday 15 July 15 16:18 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find out some information on the doak family. My paternal grandmother was named Janet Doak born oct 10 1897 in greenock  she married William Davidson born June 16 in boy die. The married in Kingston Ontario Canada. I was lucky enough to know my grandfather until he passed in 1993. I never knew my grandmother or anything about her family except her father was David doak and mother Catherine currie. I know Janet was born in #1 Hill St in greenock. And they lived on regent street. I suppose I am looking for more history if anyone wouldike to help me out. Grave stones for David or Catherine any pictures of the doak family. Anything that can make them more than a name. Thank you so much

In 1861 they also had a son Robert aged 14 b Ireland which would suggest they married in Ireland rather than Scotland

What is odd is that they have a 12yr old daughter Margaret b Glasgow which does not tie in with the 1871 Margaret so perhaps the older Margaret died.

There is also a 1yr old Samuel McSween shown as "charge" which may be a foster child

Do you know a Carolyn Jean Baston as she has notified mis-transcriotions on both the 1861 and 1871 entries so may also be researching this family
