Peckham Census - Find who lived in my address

Hi,

I hope someone can help me! I am new to this.

If anyone has a census for Peckham in London please can they look up who lived at my address? In 1881, 1891 or 1901?

The address is: 139 Copeland Road, Peckham, London SE15 3SN.

When was your house built? Although I can see the road in the censuses, I can't see that number.

Have you tried putting your ancestors name(s) in the London Gazette search engine?

The exact house number does not come up but Copeland Road, Peckham does.
Wemyss/Crombie/Laing/Blyth (West Wemyss)
Givens/Normand (Dysart)
Clark/Lister (Dysart)
Wilkinson/Simson (Kettle or Kettlehill)

I presumed that Rachel was trying to find out who lived at the address, so they wouldn't be her ancestors?

Have you looked at the deeds of the house as they usually tell you the previous owners? I know that the ones on my parents' house showed all from the time it was built and how much was paid for it each time it changed hands.

Hi Groom,

I've realised why it might not be coming up in the census.

The house used to be 60 Copeland road in 1911, and it is 139 now. They must have changed the house numbers when more were built?
