James Dallimore - South Wraxall
« on: Thursday 16 July 15 18:33 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone, I've reached somewhat of a brickwall with my 6th great grandfather, James Dallimore.
He lived and died in South Wraxall and I'm descended from his son, George, born 1788.
James was born about 1760 (according to his death record), presumably S.Wraxall, but I've not been able to find a thing at all about his parents and his birth, his wife was called Elizabeth, but again, I can't find a thing about their marriage and who she was.

If anyone can help me, I'd very much appreciate it,

Many thanks in davance,

Alex.

Hi
Weirdly there's an apprenticeship for James.
6.11.1784 James Dalimore apprentice to John Bowyer  South Wraxall C of Wilts.

It's a bit late if he really was born 1760.

I notice South Wraxall doesn't seem to be on-line so it may be a trip to Wiltshire archives.
There is a settlement order for a James Dallimore on FindMyPast born 1775 in 1780 but i don't have a sub and it's a bit late.

Thanks for your replies everyone, I've been a bit naive about this one, I thought that there might be records online, but it doesn't appear so.
I've had a good look online and it seems I might have to have a day out to Chippenham - luckily the Oxford line goes straight there!

This isn't the only problem I've had with parish records, I'll need to do something similar with family from Weston Underwood, Bucks.

All part of the fun, anyway! :)
