Did the granddaughter know if they lived in Glyn all their married life?

Gadget

Added   If they did, then it's unlikely that they'd come under Wrexham RD for other than their marriage - Censuses  would likely be either in the Oswestry or Corwen (Llangollen) Districts.

Hi again

I've been looking at Y Maes, Glyn Ceiriog on Street View and the houses don't look as if they were built in the 19th century - more like 1930s-50s council houses (lots like them  6 miles away, where I grew up). This means that if you have the correct marriage, they would have lived at a different address in the 1901 and 1911 censuses.

Have you looked for them on the 1939 Register?

Glad you found those, Wilcoxin  :)  I was wondering about it  and asked a similar question earllier:

On the North Wales BMD, I see that the 1895 marriage lists a Jane Emily Jones or a Caroline Upton as possible spouses for John Davies (WM/044.47). Are you sure that John married Jane Emily?

So that John married Caroline  :-\

(ps - and no mention of Glyn)

I think we need more info when Ladymerle speaks to their grnddaughter. The 1895 marriage might not be correct - have you got the n-c records for Oswestry and Llangollen?

They were supposed to have lived  Y Maes (no number), Glyn for most of their married life  :-\

My local n-c records are on an old backup disk - my PC died last summer and I didn't bother to put them up on my new machine so anything you can find........
