Margaret Graham and her son Hugh
« on: Sunday 19 July 15 08:43 BST (UK) »
Searching for birth/marriage records of Margaret Graham (my x4 gt grandmother) born somewhere in Ireland abt 1811. She had a son Hugh born abt 1841 either in Ireland or Liverpool. They moved to Liverpool possibly by 1841. I found a Liverpool census for 1841 census, with husband Thomas Graham, born Scotland. Then on 1861 census she appears to be a widow and now called Margaret Chalmer. But I really need to find info on Margaret back in Ireland, i.e her maiden na.me

Have you found her second marriage to somebody Chalmer?
That should give you her maiden name

If Hugh was born and registered in Liverpool in 1841, her maiden name will be on his birth certificate.

Where was Hugh on 1851 or 1861 census?

Thanks for the searches. I have found no other marriage details under the surname Chalmer. I have also looked for Hugh's birth records in Liverpool church records bit found nothing. I think he  was probably born in a church of England church, as his children were.

If you send for Hugh's birth certificate using the details that Chempat supplied, that will give you his mothers maiden name

Do you have Hugh Graham's marriage certificate ?
Does it give his father's name as Thomas ?
