I am trying to determine the parents of Bryan Cape who married Mary Hall on 10 Nov 1668 at Langtoft Church in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Confirmed in the Langtoft Parish records.
The lead I have is that his father maybe John Cape who originates from Crosswaite, Keswick. He married Elsebeth Coates on 3 Dec 1650 in Rillington, East Riding and the Rillington Parish records confirm this. In the Rillington records there are two Cape children listed as having John Cape as their father, Jane (18 Jun 1665) and Elesebeth (18 Feb 1667). There is no mention of a son Bryan.
It seems a long time from the marriage in 1650 to Jane in 1665 so other children might have been born in this period possibly in Crosthwaite, Cumberland if John was born there.
Has anyone access to Crosswaite Parish records for 1650 – 1660 which might provide some information?
