finding a final resting place

Hi, I've only just found you and registered today and I'm hoping someone may be able to help me, please.

I'm trying to find the final resting place of a couple of family members; there is no-one I know of living who has the answers - one of the people I have the death cert for, so I have some details - just not whether he was cremated or buried, or where he rests, the other one I have name and marriage details but not yet death, let alone whether he was cremated/buried or where (I'm still looking at this).

The former case I know the death was Birkenhead, 25th August 1957, in hospital, home address 2 Cecil Rd, I believe; where do I start?? 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hi Boggy and welcome to Rootschat...you might like to try the Bereavement Service Department of the Birkenhead Council giving the date and place of death.

Hi

The most likely cemeteries are Landican Cemetery or Flaybrick Hill, records for both these are held at Wirral Council Cemeteries Office at Landican Cemetery.

Hi Andy,
Thanks for that - I've just been going round and round in circles with this for ages, it really is appreciated to have some pointers from people with some knowledge & experience!

Everyone on here seems to know so much - often about stuff I've never even heard of!!
