1861 Census George Hudson/Hutson possibly Oldbury
« on: Saturday 25 July 15 09:15 BST (UK) »
Hello

Hoping somebody can confirm the location of George Hudson/Hutson on the 1861 census he may have been in Oldbury or Kingswinford.

George was born 17 Oct 1834 in Dudley.  He married Mary Ann Smart on 27th November 1854 at the Parish Church, Langley.  Both residing then in 1854 at Birchyfield Lane, Oldbury. I am not aware of any children born  or that survived between 1854 and 1865.  Mary Ann was born 1836 in Dudley,

In 1871 the family are at Hinders Lane, Gloucestershire with their young family, their first born I know of was Elizabeth Ann born 1865 in Dudley.

Appreciate any help please.

Regards

Andy

Hi
I've sent you the 1861 by pm
there might be two children buried at Netherton for the couple but no sign of baptisms to confirm that.

Rosanna age 1 25.11.1860
Levina age 2 26.10.1863.

Hello,

Sorry I replied to pm and then discovered this post.

Regarding the census you messaged me:

1861 Sheffield Road Kingswinford
George Hudson 30 stone mason Dudley
Mary 24 Dudley
Joseph 4 scholar Dudley

I am told the 1861 census states stone miner and not stone mason and the neighbour of George Hudson is a one Charles Parrish, and his wife Lavina Parrish Nee Hudson the sister of George Hudson.
Lavina Parrish died in April 1861 no trace of burial details yet though.

This is the one finally !!

So now I have to look for the possible death of Joseph Hudson as above aged 4 in 1861 born 1857 in Dudley.  As he is not shown on the 1871 census with his parents, unless Joseph stayed in Dudley area when they moved to Gloucestershire??

As well as look at the 2 burials you discovered for Rosanna age 1 25.11.1860 and Levina age 2 26.10.1863. Both been family names in that  Rosanna was Georges mother, and Levina was his late sister.

Thanking you again.

Regards

Andy
