Some burning questions

So. I'm a beginner in this, but have some burning questions and don't know the first place to look. I'm looking for any information about my father's family, his name is (*) d.o.b 1968 and hails from Bo'ness in Scotland. I am also looking for information on my mothers family, her name is (*) d.o.b 1979 and hails from Irvine in Scotland. I am also looking for any information on Burnbrae House in Falkirk, Scotland. As in, who owned the house in its prime, any stories about it etc. I know that its a lot to ask, but hoping someone can help a beginner out!

Are your mother and father still alive ?

I have edited their names from the post, as we have a policy of "no living people" here.

Almost all Scottish records can be found on the ScotlandsPeople.gov.uk site.
You will need to register, and buy credits to use that site.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

If your parents are both still alive and in contact, start by asking them what they know, and have a look at their birth and marriage certificates.

Could this be the same 'Braeburn House' mentioned in an old Rootschat topic from 2005?

"... I have no idea where she was buried but I imagine that it would be in the Falkirk area somewhere as I have been told that her family owned Burnbrae House near Camelon at one time..."
