Hi Pat

It may be that the file name you gave it is the same as another file already on the site.   Try adding a few numbers to the file name and trying again

Certainly not a stupid question. In WWI the British Army in Europe had 25 cavalry divisions. There was a 1st Cavalry Division in the early part of WWII. It was converted to 10th Armoured Division in Syria August 1941. There were horsed units in Italy 1943 - 1944, but not as cavalry.

I really don't know how else to upload the photos, I have about 3 Army related pics that I would like help with. I did successfully upload 2 photos previously so I just do not know where I am going wrong now.

What year are you asking about?

Army still uses horses today.

I think our ancestor must have been a career soldier as he was sending these postcard photos to a relative in 1904, so I guess he was in WW1.
On a couple of the pics he is wearing what looks like a leather belt across his chest with pouches along it, what were the pouches for?  he is wearing what looks like riding boots and carrying a 'whip' ?

Posting hopefully on behalf of Pat - First one Fred

Second one may contain him and Fred  he actually wrote on the back in 1904 'just returned from Eastwell Park 'nights' guard, our lines (A squad) on other side'
