I had been underwhelmed by the response times, especially when looking at Rootschat, and the loss of my favourites. Then I had an idea, shut down Edge! Everything back to normal, including the download problem, thank goodness!! Then I saw your reply Falkyrn :D.
I'm glad to hear about Firefox, I think I'll give it a go.

emmygee - I updated from 8.1 to 10 and haven't had any problems.  I still have Skype - in fact the only thing is that I can't unpin it from the taskbar and when I started it up to check it was OK, it wanted me to add a photo of myself.  I managed to ignore this.

Keith - I have unpinned Edge from the taskbar but it's not shut down, it's still listed in the apps, however, I didn't have any problems when I upgraded to 10.  I use Mozilla and the icon was still on the taskbar so I just click on that to open it and everything is the same.  The desktop view is the same with all the shortcuts I had still there.

Roger - I didn't get an invite either, I downloaded Windows 10 from a link Alan B gave on Rootschat.  Here it is if you want to try it.

I've just had a message from Microsoft to tell me that I've got too many apps downloaded and there's no room for any more.  Odd that as the only apps that are downloaded came with Windows 10 and I deleted most of them.  ::)

According to information on the web

"Windows 10 download takes up roughly 4GB to 5GB of data, so it could take a while, depending on the speed of your internet connection."
