I see I typed too fast yesterday and started with 'Help' instead of 'Hello'.  I hope you received a notification of my reply to your post and that we can exchange what we have about your grandfather.  I find he was my second cousin, once removed.  The link is though my paternal grandmother whose maiden name was Blyth.  Her family was linked with Pennycooks and Davidsons from Scotland, and I have about 8 pages of material on FB Kirby, some of which was gleaned from this forum as you will have read.
I think that when you have made another couple of posts on the forum you will be able to use the personal message system.  If you then send me a PM with your email I can send you what I have, for your comments, and I would be very glad to find out more about this interesting man.
