« on: Sunday 02 August 15 08:19 BST (UK) »
Folks,
Jane Sutton b 1859 in Stapleton, daughter of Jane Sutton.Jane the younger marries in November 1884 in Carlisle to Isaac Keay or Reay and i am in possesion of a letter from her cousin confirming the marriage, along with BMD entry.I am seeking SKS who has access to newpaper archives to confirm spouse's name.
If anyone can see a census entry post 1884 would be appreciated.

I was hoping the BMD index was wrong, and still no sign in census under either. The 1889 death is a probable, more to be worked on.I did have 1881 census but only for Jane as a single woman.
Thanks all.

I can't see Jane Reay post 1881 in the census but I wonder if in 1891 she is living as the wife of Peter Conton?? living in Caldergate, Carlisle.   Her birthplace matches that in the 1881 census

Peter Conton 33
Jane Conton 32   Irthington, Cumberland
Hugh Conton72 Ireland
Thomas Conton    17 Brother
Percy Conton 1  Son

Edit -Looks like the wrong Jane - The surname is Conlon and Peter Conlan married a Jane Clifford in 1884 in Carlisle

Folks,
Freebmd has three births 1850-1855
1 1853 Carlisle bap Dalston,1881 married drapers assistant in Botchergate
2 1854 Longtown bap Scaleby,1881 clerk in Caldewgate
3 1855 Wigton no bap found,1911 in Jarrow,Durham
The 1889 death would seem to be 1,3 is single and out of county.
Other Janes found have differing pob. There is a Jane Ann Reay b 1859 Longtown on BMD to match 1892 marriage.
But no sign of my Isaac and Jane on census, even tried international search on A********y for family tree.
