Do people get notified when their questions are answered?

Hi,
I registered because I wanted to reply to someone's question.  I think their original post is from 2006 (not sure I am understanding the format correctly).  I hope that they see that I posted some information that may be of interest.  Do original posters get notified when they have a response to an old question? Or does one need to send them a PM. (I am too new to PM).

Yes, we do get notified by email when any response is made to a post which we have been part of - you should get an email about this reply.

The possibility is that the original poster may have changed email addresses since 2006.

As long as they have ticked the box for notifications and their e-mail address is still the same, they should get notified. Looking at their profile they were last on Rootschat on the 20th of July, so should see your post.

Wow, this is an active forum.  I'm glad to know that she will get my post. (Maybe we're related.)  I registered for the site just because her post popped up in a totally unconnected search, and I recognized my grandmother's name.  Who knows, maybe I will stick around and learn some things about my past.  Thanks.
