Death/will info Andrew AYLMER 1841-1851
« on: Sunday 09 August 15 06:58 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Not sure where to post this can someone please suggest (or move) where would be best?

Looking for death or will of Andrew AYLMER - he died after 1841 and before 1851 going by census info. Born around 1783/6 Southfield Colne Lancashire.

He married Hannah SAGAR (nee COOPER) 20 Nov 1828.

Found family on 1841 census in Isle Of Man - he joined the ministry but had to retire due to ill health.

Found Hannah in 1851 census at Catlow House, Greater Marsden listed as widow with 2 daughters - Annuitant.

Hannah died in 1852 Colne

Can't find her either of their wills so far and have no idea where I should be looking?!

Any suggestions appreciated
Thanks

If Andrew died in the Isle of Man 1841-1851 his Death Reg would not appear on FreeBMD.
You may have to ask for a look-up on the IOM Board on here.

Have you looked at  LANCAT  (Lancashire record office catalogue)  Whilst I can't see a will there seem to be a few links for Hannah Aylmer nee Sagar

according to this record on Lan-opc Hannah was buried in Colne - but was in fact living at an address in Salford
Burial: 23 Sep 1852 St Bartholomew, Colne, Lancashire, England
Hannah Aylmer -
    Age: 64
Abode: No 17 The Crescent, Salford, Manchester
Buried by: T C Humfrey, Offg Minister

so - she must have moved from Greater Marsden to Salford during the last 18 months of her life ...
this record informs us that they were Non Conformist - do you know what Religious Faction they were ?

I wonder where the middle name Oastler comes from - as Hannah was a Cooper then a Sagar ........??
ADDED   they were Weslyan Methodist - maybe look for Weslyan Methodist ,Isle of Man on Google ?
you could ask on this Isle of Man Genealogy Message Board
