Cause of Death Mystery
« on: Tuesday 11 August 15 08:00 BST (UK) »
Greetings!
I have a Death Certificate for one John POAD, died 12 Dec 1843 at St Dominick, Cornwall. He was 72 years old and a Mason, but his cause of death has me flummoxed!
And I quote, exactly as written: 'Callis on the Inside'
Dr Google has not come up with any satisfactory answers, so over to you wonderful RootsChat.Com members!!

Could it possibly be read as Callus? The doctor may have used this term to denote thickened area. Possibly referring to being able to feel a tumour.

Thanks Kath,
That's what I came up with too!!
But I thought I'd see if anyone had a better idea!
He was a stone mason, so possibly dust related...
Great minds think alike, eh??  :D
