The St George was at number 104 when it was let at £100 a year, described as Freehold Wine and Spirit vaults in the Public Ledger and Daily Advertiser of 24 August 1827.

But then there's this in 1829 - transcribed as 122 Blackburn Street http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/results/r?search=r&_q=%22St+george%27s+coffee%22

and this lot from 1794 through to John West in 1837 at 122 Blackman Street http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/results/r?search=r&_q=%22122+blackman%22

All very curious. It's as though the Sun Fire Office was using a different system of numbering from everybody else. I wonder if they did.

Yes I've seen that but the information given is slightly wrong. Some of this does not stack up. Re study at the Southwark Library. The publican in 104 is not whom i want to find. The info on the St Georges Coffee Room is also faulty.

It is wrong to only take 3rd hand info as being true. You must ALWAYS use prime
sources every time if possible. Transcribers do get it wrong.
