Armstrong family history in Western Australia , 1929 onwards.....
« on: Wednesday 12 August 15 18:22 BST (UK) »
I am looking to find out about my grandfathers sister Frances Armstrong who emigrated to western Australia with her husband and family in 1929. She was one of 12 children, my grandfather being the eldest. No one in the family know anything about them after they emigrated. I do however have one family group photo taken with her 5 sons and 2 daughters. I think the youngest daughter was Born in Australia

I emailed the newspapers in Perth to find out about my great aunt who went there in .1898.I looked on line for an e mail address and sent information that I knew.
Within days I had several replies and I'm now in contact with her grandaughter ....exchanged stories and photographs.
Worth a try

Hi Kathlyn ,

Was Armstrong her maiden name ?
Who was her husband ?

This topic might get more attention on the Australian Board.  :-\

many thanks. Not very good at posting messages in the appropriate place.  Her husband was John Armstrong and she was Frances Hepple. They were formerly from Birtley, County Durham

I am interested in finding out what happened to my grandfathers sister Frances Hepple who married a John Armstrong. They came from Birtley, County Durham. They emigrated to Western Australia in 1929 with their 5 sons and 1 daughter. They had another daughter in 1932 over there.  i think they first settled in Kalgoorie W.A.  He was a miner

Looks like a 1910 marriage in Chester Le Street , Co. Durham , England , John Armstrong / Frances Hepple.
