Patrick Geraghty pre 1800...
« on: Friday 14 August 15 07:54 BST (UK) »
Hello all
I'm new to this, so please excuse any error!
Doing my family tree and although doing ok I've come to a wall. Richard Geraghty born Ireland 1829, came over to UK , Newcastle  marrying a woman from Ireland in 1854.
I have Richard's parents as Patrick & Mary , can't locate.....I'm led to believe might be from mayo, but not certain at all.
Any clues anyone??

The Catholic Parish records for Ireland came online a few weeks ago but you need to know the parish, not just a county, to check if the relevant records go back far enough to include your family if Patrick Geraghty was indeed Catholic.

Have a look at this topic on tracing Irish ancestors-
