Walter Rogers
« on: Sunday 16 August 15 20:12 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am looking into my grandads side of the family, Walter Rogers married Brenda M Gould, they lived in Redditch and that's as far as I can get, I would also like to try and find further info regarding his military service as my grandad ( Robert Hedley Rogers) has a great photograph of him in uniform.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

an indication of approximate date(s) would be useful.

My Grandparents were born around 1900
a friend of similar age has a grandparent b 1840

is this the Rogers-Gould marriage in 1934?

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl?start=1934&end=1934&sq=4&eq=4&type=Marriages&vol=6d&pgno=2193

Can you tell which of the Forces the uniform is of?

Hi Pauline, thanks for the quick reply, it was the Rogers - Gould marriage but that's all the info I have, grandad can't remember dates but that time frame would seem about right

Hi,

Welcome to Rootschat.  :)

For WW2 service; records are with MOD but you can apply for a copy, details here:

For WW1 service, some records are available on Ancestry but the majority were destroyed in WW2 Blitz.

Is Robert the son of Walter and Brenda? FreeBMD has a possible birth registration in 1935.
