Vancouver lookup request
« on: Wednesday 19 August 15 18:26 BST (UK) »
Hi All,

I have a relative by the name of Philip Weston, who was born around 1945 in Chelmsford, Essex, England and died in October 1965 or 1966 in Vancouver Canada in a car crash.  I have done a general CA google search and looked in the BC newspaper archives but haven't been able to find out any further information. Does anyone else have any sources they could check?

Kind Regards

Paula

Hi,

His death certificate says he died on the Big Bend Highway, 14 miles north of Revelstoke BC.

Under the cause of death section, it looks like he died instantly from head injuries.

His name is hyphenated here - so perhaps your newspaper search should be for McGregor-Weston.  Date of death was Oct 2 1966

Hi,

There is a very short note about the accident - down at the bottom right corner of this newspaper page.  It says it was a one car accident.  There was a passenger who survived.

Hi,

The following links will give you the setting of the Big Bend Highway (the old Trans Canada Highway route), which was replaced by the tunnels and snow sheds of the Rogers Pass (the existing Trans Canada Highway Route).
