No she would have only been 9 years old.  I have found from another rootschat member that Ann was the child she had in Australia after being transported.

Thank you for your help. :)

Hi, I have this Mary with an illegitimate child called James with that year of birth in my tree, I have pm'd you too.
James was living with Grandparents in 1841 as the first person posted in comments, In 1851 he was still living with his grandparents.
in 1853 she married John Tipper and in 1861 was living with him and James was also there, I dont know where Mary was in 1851 though.
I know nothing of being transported to Australia though?

:) Thanke for that, Little Bridgeford a few miles from Seighford, so who was the child who arrived in 1847 Australia with her?
So is your Mary, the Mary Ann Atkins aged 15 occ Potter at County Prison, St Mary, Stafford
Census ref HO107/1010/ 6/33/ 3?
OK if the one in prison 1841 aged 15 is your Mary/Mary Ann Atkins and her parents Joseph & Mary where was she baptised?
