Cannot find Alice in Passenger Lists to Canada
« on: Thursday 20 August 15 22:07 BST (UK) »
Alice Sarah Jane YORKE had arrived in Canada by 27th May 1902 when she was a witness at her sister's marriage in Montreal, but we cannot find her in passenger lists.

Three of her siblings have been found in passenger lists (the others seem to have stayed in England)
Brothers Charles and Reginald arrived together in 1903
Sister Lizzie Edith Mary arrived in 1901

But where oh where is Alice?

She was born 1881 in Pimlico, London
I cannot find her in the 1901 census

Alice Sarah Jane Yorke (spinster) married William McKay (Bachelor of City of Montreal)  Anglican Christ Church Cathedral, Actes 13 October 1909

Witnesses Charles White. Margaret Thomas and ??? McDonegill

Have you found the couple on census to see what immigration date was mentioned ?

I think the marriage has been indexed wrongly . It's William McKay Carrie.

Here's the 1916 census :

Christine

Forgot about the immigration year which says 1911 - which is wrong !
