Two instances of the name in the county ~

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FGZ5-Q7R

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FG8W-FQT

Neither in Maryborough itself, but not a millions miles away either !

The 1901 / 1911 census returns suggest 1857/8 (ie. they are pretty consistent)?

I'd go for later years too given the year of marriage and children's births  ;D

The OP must have a reference for the  "I know she was born between 1850-1856" comment.

Catkelly1, how do you know this?  :)

Thank you for your replies to my message  :)

I have Esther's marriage certificate to Christopher Dowling her father was Richard he was a labourer but was deceased.  Their son was my grandfather also a Christopher they had two other children Elizabeth and Margaret their two elder children another child called Christopher and Kathleen both died young.  From my grandfather's employment record it states his mother was his next of kin in 1919 and that she was 70.  I have also looked at the census records for 1901 and 1911 which say she was born between 1856-58 so I have been looking for records between these dates.  Also the census say she for her religion she was a Presbyterian and church of Ireland.  But I can't find any church records for her birth.

Can't find a baptism for Esther. I'm aware of an 1830 baptism in the area for a Catherine to parents Richard Hargroves and Ann McEvoy, also an 1867 marriage of a Michael Hargroves of Maryborough, father Richard, who married a Mary Dowling, father Connor.

Hopefully someone will pick up something on Esther.
