Hi, welcome to Rootschat.

You have posted this in the wrong place, so I will ask a Mod to move it.

Can you tell us her name, her married name, where she was born and where she was in 1901? Then a mod can move it to the right county.

i cannot easily see the 1901 census entry you mention - can you give a census reference or more detail?

Who was the child of Lydia's who was your grandparent?  Perhaps knowing the birthdate and birthplace of that child will help trace where Lydia went.  Have you looked into whether Lydia might have taken a man's surname informally, even if she did not marry him?

I can't see her in 1901 either, although I have found her in previous censuses.

I see that she was with her family in Skerton, Lancs in 1881 and 1891.

Is this therefore the baptism of her daughter Elizabeth Alice, in Skerton in 1888?

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JSY5-HRC (LanOPC confirms "singlewoman")

I see that there is a 2 yr old Elizabeth A in the Pegg family in 1891, enumerated as though she were a daughter rather than granddaughter.

I wondered that as all the others are B Pegg.

Elizabeth is still with George as daughter in 1901   RG13; Piece: 3990; Folio: 131; Page: 7

Lydia had a brother, Arnold Pegg?  He is in the 1901 household as well.
He is buried in Skerton Cemetery - I have a list of names on MIs compiled by the LFHHS
There is an Eliza Ann Pegg in the same grave.

I live locally and would like to help but am going on holiday tomorrow! Will try and keep an eye on this thread from a distance.

Thankyou for helping me, Elizabeth Alice was daughter of Lydia Pegg so George was the grand dad..the name broughton pegg is uses many times on the children of george and Mary pegg, Elizabeth Alice was baptised in Lancaster  as she was born 1888..Lydia Pegg never married, and was supposed to have died from consumption between 1891 and 1901 as I can't find a death certificate last seen on census 1891 living in Lancaster,..she may have been put in a isolation hospital but I just don't know..thank you for the info on Arnold Pegg burried in skerton cemetery as they all lived on pi fold lane in that area..I just need to know where Lydia rest ..
