Duncan McRae & Charlotte Smith
« on: Sunday 30 August 15 06:16 BST (UK) »
I am a great , great granddaughter of Duncan & Charlotte McRae & am looking for any info regarding this couple. I have family photo's & much info about their lives in the Red River Settlement but very little about their lives in Scotland & Charlotte's in England. Am also wanting info about Charlotte's parents William Smith- B-1807 ? & Sarah Ann Smith- 1800-? from Little London, Long Sutton , Lincolnshire , England. It is unknown if they returned to England after his contract was finished with the HBC. TY

Hello and a very warm welcome to RootsChat  :).

This looks like it might be the burials of your Duncan and Charlotte in Canada. Click on the plaque to the right to bring it into focus. It tells a bit about Duncan's work as a stonemason.

TY for your info , I really appreciate your interest .  I actually live about 5 minutes away from the site that the plaque is on & attended the dedication with my Mom who was a great grand  daughter. This is where Duncan & Charlotte are buried as well as many other family members.
