Birth Certificate Abbreviations

On four birth certificates I have come across the following abbreviations in the 'when and where born' column.  U.D., R.S.D., R.W. and R.D.  Would appreciate any help as to what they stand for.

I think they are:

UD -  urban district
RSD - registration sub district or rural sanitary district?
RD  -  registration or rural district

and
RW - not a clue......

RW might suggest rural or registration but I have no idea what the W could be for.

The Public Health Act (1872) mapped out England into Sanitary Districts, both Urban and Rural. The 1894 Local Government Act, turned the Sanitary boards into District Councils.

RD will not be Registration District as this is written across the top of the certificate, it will be Rural District. Are you sure R.W. is correct? What is the rest of the address?

Can you please give us more information about the Certificate  with R.W   on it?

County,  Date,    Country (Wales, Scotland, England, Ireland )  anything else distinctive.

My only thought for RW    is Royal   something,   but just cannot think of anything other than Royal Borough?

We need to know the Registration District and the address to make an informed opinion.
