Hi Undautri, Could you tell us your gggrandmother's name? Presumably if she was Lord Kitchener's cousin she was the child of one of his four (I think) siblings. That would be a good place to start. Do you have a birth certificate for her which would give her parents' names? Fran

Child of his sibling would make her Lord Kitchener's niece not his cousin.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

thank you very much for your help
she was Louisa  and her surname appears in all types of manner on censuses and certificates- Kirchner/ Kischener/Kichner and possibly Kirkon
my biggest obstacle is not finding a birth certificate but i have a wedding cert that states her father was named Benjamin Kirchner
she was born between 1827 AND 1833 in co limerick . ireland
The man i believe to have gained money would not have been mentioned in the will but came forward in response to a newspaper article from a solicitor asking for any relatives to contact them . would his name therefore be held at the archives?
thanks again

Do you know to which denomination the family belonged ?
The National Library of Ireland have released Roman Catholic parish records.
Some Parish records cover the early 1820's but not all. You may be able to find Louisa's Baptism.
Baptism records name parents and sponsors. To start you will need to know which RC Parish.

Have you tried to find Kitchener & variations of surname in Griffiths Valuation ? Property survey taken in the 1850's. You may find hints as to what part of Co Limerick the family were living in.
