Been told theres a link to John Harrison the clockmaker with my Harrisons. Anyone with info?

Who are your Harrison family, how far back have you got with your own family.

This is information re the famous "John Harrison" born Foulby Yorkshire 1693, in Barrow upon Humber abt 1700:-

The best thing is to follow your own family backwards, if you then find a connection to people
of fame or importance GREAT, it is not a good idea to work forward from a possible connection
to a famous person.

Been doing genealogy for many years. Ive got back to early 1800s and seen various info on internet about him but it was just that a relative id found had mentioned there might be a link...common name to search!
