Jacob James Squires
« on: Friday 11 September 15 17:45 BST (UK) »
Looking for my great grandfather Jacob James Squires. Born around 1884 died May 11, 1907 Green Bay, NL. He came across on a schooner at some point. Don't know much about him. He died just after my nan, Lily Charlotte, was born in 1905. He married Mary Ann Tilley (1884-1956) d/o James Tilley and Merina Hounsell. Not sure if he was born England, Scotland or Ireland... Any help would be great.

Hi

Not sure if this would help but this link of Newfoundland Vital records show that Jacob died of influenza and was born and died in 'Stocking', district of Twillingate.

Not sure on the Ohio post. But Jacob married in 1904 to Annie Tilley. My nan was born in 1905 and he died in 1907. If he was from Ohio then he would have had to come to NL after 1900. Where he would have been 17 years of age. Cause he was 21 when he married.
