I haven't yet but my grandad told me once that originally they were from Scotland moved to Ireland then came over to london.

It would be interesting to find out, maybe they moved around so much in order to find work?  I keep meaning to spend some time in Bermondsey/Rotherhithe to check parish records but haven't got round to it.  All of the addresses that any of them lived at no longer exist, only the house in Grange Road where my grandfather moved to soon after he married.

The estate my grandad grew up on is still there Adams gardens I know most of them all lived there at one point it's called Swan buildings.

Thank you for that, I had looked on a street map and couldn't find it, I obviously didn't look hard enough!  I might try and have a look round later this month.

Hi ,
My great grandmother was Johanna Mcdonnell born in Bermondsey.
She was the daughter of William and Mary. She had a brother called Walter.
I would love to hear from anyone that has a link to Johannah or Walter.
