My name is Schawn McLeod I am looking for some help on my family's history. My father is Dennis McLeod, grandfather is George McLeod Jr. My great grandfather is George McLeod sr. My great grandfather came to the US in the mid 1800. Settled in Ironton, Mo. He died in 1964. That is as far as I got.

Schawn,

Well welcome to RootsChat, I hope you get lots of help here to get you going.

You had probably best edit your post to get rid of living people details, so we start with your Grandfather I'm guessing?

Hi

Was it your Great Grandfather who died in 1964 or your Grandfather ? This findagrave entry appears to show George McLeod jun , born 26 Jun 1918 died 24 Apr 1964. Spouse Ruby Louise McLeod

Hi Schawn,

I think you will get further assistance if you add some dates, the females of the marriages by maiden names & the location of your gg grandfather prior to arriving in USA.

Birth year slightly out but could be a possible  - Geo McLeod born 1863 Aberdeen  on a New York Passenger List - Liverpool to New York arriving 25 February 1889

Came across another tree which shows George Frazer Mcleod born 19 Jan 1863 in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland (no source) who passed away 14 Apr 1948 in  Arcadia, Missouri.
Speculation on one tree that the parents could be George McLeod and Ann Davidson

If it is the Scottish history you are looking for, perhaps the Aberdeen board would be a better option.  ???
