Help on a Death Record Please
« on: Wednesday 16 September 15 22:24 BST (UK) »
Hi all, I got a question in need of helping as I've searched Ancestry and FindMyPast. I am searching for a death record of my great-grandmother Mabel Jones. I found a whole new family and cousins :D But unfortunately no one knows what year in the 1990's she passed away in. Here are the details they given me, Mabel Jones lived in Mangingam Bradford, died in the 1990's and was buried with her parents who as I already know is Arthur Stanley Walton and Lizzie Walton. They are buried in Thurnscoe. It either come under as Bradford, Barnsley or Rotherham.

Thank You,
Patricia

Hi, okay thanks for that correction on the Manningham. My grandmother was born in Sept 1924 roughly and she never remarried as far as we all know of, as after divorcing my grandfather she kept the marriage surname Jones. She had a partner, but they never married.

You haven't given your grandfather's name - is that because he is still alive?

Were Mabel's parents the Arthur S Walton and Lizzie Broadhead who married in Doncaster district, Sep qtr 1921?

Ahhh right, my grandfather passed a looooong looong time ago sadly. Yes that's her parents and Mabel married my grandfather William E J Jones in 1945. And apparently divorced when she walked out, but I need to find out where I can the records for that. Mabel went under a various of names. But as I said before, she had a partner and moved back to her home roots. She had a siblings, I can't remember how many. The family who have traced me on facebook have got everything about Mabel for me, the people who were tracing Mabel on behalf of my mum for a number years had been in touch with the family before 4 yrs ago. But he didn't respond to the call.

I had a sense of deja vu on this one.  Your previous thread had lots more information including her precise birthdate of 8 September 1924 and the fact that she was calling herself Margaret by the time she married.

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=723668.0

It's always helpful to link to previous threads, otherwise there's a big risk that Rootschatters will spend time duplicating work that has already been done.

Have you searched for deaths using her known birthdate to see who comes up?

I don't know how to do 'links' to new threads, sorry. Yes I have tried using her dob but nothing comes of it in results.
