Surly an age isn't rounded to 16.
I thought it was to the nearest divisible by 5 so she'd be 15 on the census
Or am I daft?

Concerning Louisa's date of birth - if she was born in 1829 or 1830 then she lied about her age in 1848 when she married.  If 'Louisa Kirknon' is indeed Louisa Kirchner, as seems likely, then I would observe that it has been said that in the 1841 census for ages over the age of 15 where they are not specified  in multiples of 5 then they are most likely to be correct. Louisa's age is given as 16.  My experience is that age discrepancies tend to increase with age!

im going by the transcription in family search -

Name    Louisa Kirknon
Event Type    Census
Event Date    1841
Event Place    Swansea, Glamorganshire, Wales
Residence Note    Strand
Gender    Female
Age    16-20
Age (Original)    16
Birth Year (Estimated)    1825-1829

in 1851 swansea  census shes aged 20
marriage cert 1848 shows her as full age would 17/18 be classed as full age ? i know my gg grandmother married at 16 in 1876
starting to doubt if louisa kirknon is in fact our louisa phil what with the dob differences and the fathers christian names differing
maybe the dublin furriers arent connected to the limmerick cabinet makers ????????????????????????????????

Is Rebecca Kirchner with her mother and new husband in the England census? She was baptised 15 Aug 1826 so has to be Simon's last child.

I love free weekends, is she Rebecca Louisa Kirchner I wonder.

Simon had a sorry end, debtors court, died in a pub, all reported in the papers could his children have disowned him!

Just a thought..
