Hi,

Welcome to RootsChat.

In 1881 there is an A. St. George age 22 onboard the vessel 'Duncan', Sheerness but his birthplace is recorded as Marylebone, London  ???.

A possibility?

JJ

Hello Janus, there has been a lot of correspondence about the St. George family, principally the Irish branch.
One young man with the splendid name :- Howard Avenel Bligh St.George who was killed at Ypres early in the 1914 -18 war has figured in many posts. Quite a lot is known about him and one RootsChatter has written a book "Aristcrats go to War".
Search back through old posts and you will find out lots. It is quite possible it is your extended family. Best of luck with your research.Viktoria.

Hi, JJ, no father mentioned, that would tie in, with my above record, of him being sent to an Industrial School, being destitute and without parents.
