Searching for information on Nellie May Morris (formerly Moore)

Hello,

This is my first posting on this website. I apologize if I am not using it correctly.

I am trying to find out about my father's family. On his birth certificate, Nellie May Morris (formerly Moore) is listed as the mother but there is no father listed. Based on what I have seen on this site, it would appear that Nellie was married to Frederick (Fred) Morris who apparently died in Dec 1929. My father was born in 1936 on Brick kiln Street, Hinckley.

I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me about Nellie and Frederick's children (I think my father had 3 brothers and a sister who were much older than him) and could shed any light on who my grandfather might have been.

Would that be the Nellie M Moore and Fred Morris who married in Hinckley, Sep qtr 1911?

On FreeBMD you should be able to find 9 Morris births with mother's maiden name Moore registered 1911-1928.  There is then a gap before the 1936 registration.

Hello There,

Nellie M Moore, and Frederick Morris, were married in 1911.
Registered September qtr Hinkley Volume 7a page.

According to Freebmd, they had the following children....

Albert E Morris born 1911
Olive A born 1912
Nellie M born 1914
George E born 1916
There is another girl, born 1920, but she could just be still alive, so we cannot name her......

There is also a twin registration in 1922 (male), male in 1925 and  male in 1928.

Not yet found a death registration for Frederick in 1929; did he die in Hinckley?

That is going to be very difficult if Frederick Morris died long before he was born. He would have been given the name Morris as that was his mother's name, but the fact that his father's name has been left blank means that he was illegitimate and there probably isn't a lot of chance you finding who his father was.

My family immigrated to Canada when I was very young so I do not remember my father's family. I do remember an Uncle George and I have a document of Baptism for Albert E dated October 1 1911. On it Frederick and Nellie May are listed as 'Godparents'.

I don't recognize any of the other names and two names are missing (although the Aunt I remember might be the one that cannot be named because she may still be alive).

My mother was always unsure if the relatives of Dad's that she knew were half brothers and sisters of step brothers and sisters.

Obviously more research is required.
