What happened to Bernard Edward Brand ?

I am trying to help a friend with some research. She is trying to find information about her father Bernard Edward Brand who was born in Uxbridge on 25th October 1946. She has just found out that he died in 2005 in Southampton. He married her mother in 1969 but they divorced a few years later.
Can anyone provide any information on Bernard, did he remarry ?
The death certificate has been ordered.
Any help would be helpful.

There are 2 possibles:  1979 in Surrey and 1989 in Southampton.

 No way to confirm as index just shows Bernard E Brand but a Bernard E Brand is listed on the Electoral Register (2002-2005) at an address in Southampton.

The informant on the death certificate should help.

My friend has now received the death certificate and unfortunately her father hung himself, the informant was the coroner in 2005 in Southampton, he lived in Orchard Lane in Southampton, he was born 25 Oct 1946, born in Uxbridge.

There is no wife on the certificate, although he divorced her mother over 30 years ago.
Is it possible to get a copy of the coroner's report.

She is now trying to see if he had any siblings and the names of his mother and father.
Any help would be appreciated

If you go to http://www.freebmd.org.uk and do a birth search on Bernard's name you will find his registration details and his mother's maiden name listed.

A search using Brand as the fathers name the mother's name found throws up a couple of other births in Uxbridge in 1944 and 1947.

Also a marriage in Uxbridge in 1942.

No names of possible siblings mentioned here as they may still be alive.

Thanks Ian &. Nanny Jan for all your help, my friend is absolutely delighted with the information that has come about from Roots by some very helpful people and so fast.
She is going to follow up with the coroner's office.

I did try clicking on to the www.freebmd.co.uk site but unfortunately I do not have an Ancestry subscription so was unable to see any information.
