Ellen M Cox b1893 d1991 - 2nd marriage?

Hi All

My mums Great Aunt (Ellen M Cox, known as cissy or sis) was born in London, UK in 1893 and moved to Washington State, USA.
I know she married Harvey B Ruchty (b1886 d 1961) and had 2 children with him (Hazel and George) and I have lots of info on them as my mother met Hazel once. Here's the but, I also think Ellen married Elmer G Ross in 1969 in Benton County but I can not find a birth or death for him. I believe they had a son together "Bud Ross" but I have been unable to find his birth or death or indeed whether he married etc.

Thank you for your help, my search ability from the UK is somewhat limited.

Check www.findagrave.com for Ellen Cissy Ruchty, who died in 1991.  From grave marker, it appears she was still using the name Ruchty at the time of her death.

If she married again in 1969 as you say, she would have been a bit old to have had a child at that time!

Thanks, I've got the grave and yes it really should have clicked that she would have been in her 70s!!!

I have no idea where this 2nd marriage has come from but its on my family tree and there is a marriage listed between Ellen M Ruchty and Elmer G Ross.

I agree that she was too old to have had a child( 73 ! ) but I have found a marriage :

Ellen Ruchty b 22 May 1892 and Elmer G Ross 28 Jan 1903 married 28 Jan 1969 Grandview Washington in County of Yakima, he of Benton , she of Yakima

witnesses Hazel Albertson and Ronald G Ross

Edit Hazel her daughter ?

Yes, thats the marriage I have. Although I think Hazel's married name was Anderson and its Albertson on the certificate and its after her first husband had died but, as has been pointed out, its Ruchty on the grave and what happened to Elmer?

Elmer was born 28 Jan. 1903 per marriage record.

Hazel (Ellen's daughter) b1918 d 1984

I'm sure (think) she married someone named "Meachem" but have no info.
She also married Aurthur Anderson (Art) my mum met him but
doing a search a Hazel Ruchty Jacobsen (mother Cissy Ruchty) comes up. Just how many husbands did she have?! As far as i know, she had no children.

There is a match for Hazel with a death in 1994 in Social Security Applications and Claims with the following: 

In May 1938, name listed as Hazel Ruchty Jacobsen.  In Apr. 1942, name listed as Hazel Ruchty Meachem, and in Jul. 1952, name listed as Hazel L. Albertson.  Hazel's mother was listed as Cissy E. Cox.

Regarding Ellen's grave, maybe she & her 2nd husband already had plots purchased with their first spouses, so decided it was more practical to use them.
